Mark Laurence joins Daco as International Sales Manager
Mark brings with him a wealth of knowledge, having worked in the narrow web and converting industry for 22 years. Having studied marketing and database management at college, his first job in the industry was with Milthorp Ltd in Wakefield, West Yorkshire as a marketing assistant. Within two years he was promoted to Marketing Manager and was responsible for the computer system, the quarterly newsletter sent Worldwide, and exhibitions attended throughout the World. After a management buyout and ten years service he left and formed Polygraphica Equipment Ltd with four other colleagues.
Initially, Mark wrote a suite of programs and a new marketing database system for Polygraphica. After two years he moved into sales looking after the narrow web and label division. Mark was instrumental in gaining Polygraphica ISO 9000 and was one of the first companies in the second-hand equipment market place to do so. Polygraphica obtained the Worldwide distributorship for Daco Solutions products in 2002 and was headed by Mark Laurence. With Mark’s and Polygraphica’s marketing skills, they steadily increased the sales of Daco products. They made the products a viable alternative to some of the well-established brands in the UK and Europe. Daco needed to establish its products globally, and Mark decided to join Daco Solutions as International Sales Manager in January 2007. During 2007 Daco will secure further agents Worldwide, open an office in America and launch a new range of inspection slitter rewinders at Labelexpo Europe 2007.
